Interests: God is my first and foremost interest. Everything I cherish most in this life comes from Him. I love Theatre. Considering it's my major, I spend most of my time learning every aspect of this art that I can. Backpacking with my family in the great state of Oregon is pretty fantastic as well. I have new found interest in traveling, I have this giagantic check of list of everywhere I would like to visit in the duration of my life. I cherish time spent alone as well as time spent with people dearest to me. And, I know this might be cheesy, but I tear up everytime I watch the movie "Anne of Green Gables".

My computer official works! Two weeks without two keys technological items has been interesting. I've enjoyed the time I would have spent meandering around the world wide web reading, visiting, excercising and so forth. As for my phone, I never pick it up anyway, so if someone wanted something from me, TOUGH LUCK. This vacation away from technology has also made me really aware of people who are less fortunate. Our "needs"  are ridiculous compared to those of most of the world. But, we will never give it up. Pretty soon this endless cycle of the "latest and greatest" will eat us out of house and home. We humans are pretty silly people.

To those that prayed for my uncle, thank-you. It looks like he is out of danger now, but he still has alot of recovery to do.  It will be a while before he can return to the states.

I will be back in Searcy on Tuesday! I think about many of you everyday and I look forward to what next year will bring to our friendship. There are so many things left to learn, so many memories to be made.

Let's see. Interesting things that happened this week:

1. Went to the dentist twice and had my teeth worked on by a very good looking dental assistant. Too bad I was so numbed up on pain medication that he spent half the time wiping drool from my mouth.

2. Got a haircut that I'm not sure about. When you see me, just tell me it looks good for my sanity.

3. Went to the beach with my family. Good times. Oregon beaches are really cold, but there  are seal lions everywhere and you can see whales from the distance. It is just so beautiful!

Well, that is about it. Enjoy these final days of summer!

Please pray for my uncle Dave. He was mountain climbing in Peru when he had a heart attack. He didn't receive medical care for 10 hours. He is in critical condition in a hospital in Peru and has been so for over a week. We are not sure if he is going to make it.

Emotions have been running high for me lately and I don't really know why.

I cried uncontrollably after killing a spider today. I have nothing against spiders and usually will free a spider trapped in my house. But, on accident I sprayed a spider with some windex while cleaning my bathroom. The poor thing fell off the mirror, drench in solution, and struggled to stand up despite the fact that it's eight legs were giving out. I thought about just putting it out of it's misery right then,  but I felt bad enough about spraying it and thought it should still have a chance to live. About 20 minutes later I came back to find it dead. I just started crying and crying. Suddenly, I thought about Charlotte's Web and how I just orphaned dozens of little babies. The crying continued. I can't explain this moment of lunacy today, but sometimes the little things just get to you.  I guess I just like routing for the little guy, and this time he didn't make it. Next time you come across a spider busily spinning it web or creeping across your path, think twice about squishing it; for my sake.

I HATE GAMES...as anyone who knows me is well aware of. I hate board games, cards, water games, pretty much all games. The reason goes back to my childhood. You see, we never played games growing up and on the occasion I would play monopoly or candyland with a friend I would get terribly beat because my friends took advantage of my rookie skills. Hating games didn't really affect me until I came to Harding. To my horror it seemed that everyone played games all the time, and loved it. People would get together and what would they do? I think you guessed right. They would play games: catch phrase, cranium, spades.......things I knew nothing about and didn't care to know about. Well, people started talking. It seemed I came across snobish and ant-social by refusing to join in such merriments. So,  I have made a desicion. I am going to Target right now and I am going to buy a game; any game. I WILL LIKE GAMES. I will particpate whole-heartedly and competively on game night. I will be good. So all you game players better watch out. ( this entry was especially for any Pied Piper readers)
